23rd NNVAWI Conference

Promoting Safety and Health for Women and Youth Exposed to Violence:

Advancing Health Practice, Education, Policy and Research.

Malmo, Sweden, June 30 - July 2, 2020.

This conference provides a forum for nurses, midwives, social workers, counsellors, physicians, advocates, criminologists, community activists, policy makers and researchers to share their work and engage in dialogue about innovations in research, practice, education and policy that support action to create a violence-free world.

Special Areas of Focus Include:

  • Health effects of violence across the lifespan

  • The experiences and consequences of individual, community, or structural violence among minority populations (including LGTBQ+, refugees, immigrants, Indigenous populations)

  • Innovations to prevent or respond to gender-based violence

  • Advances in gender-based violence education for health care and social service professionals

  • Advances in gender-based violence research methods

  • Engaging men and boys in actions to respond to violence against women, youth and children.

  • Femicide- risk factors and strategies for prevention

Abstract submissions have now closed. Authors are scheduled to learn the outcome of their submission in November 2019.
